Description

A mid to late 20th century reproduction six drawer chest of drawers in French Louis XV style, made in the 1970s or 1980s probably. It's hard to date accurately, having been painted, but it seems to be of solid hardwood construction; quite well made, and not chipboard etc (the drawer bottoms are ply) so it's likely fairly vintage. Six drawers in two banks of three with moulded, shaped trims; shaped top; cabriole legs. More recently it's been painted, by someone who knows what they're doing but hasn't finished it! Nicely aged paintwork in light blue and cream; a major floral motif on the top but incomplete. The two banks of drawers have a slightly different hue of cream. Condition otherwise is pretty good: it's solid and the drawers work fine (one is a little stiff but that will very likely improve in a heated house). This is fine to use at it is or it could be rubbed through a bit to age it and disguise the omissions. Or be stripped (lot of work..) or repainted (much easier..). Either way, we've kept the price manageable. Dimensions: 97cm x 38cm x 69cm high
